What it logs and from where

Open the Journal with the Journal button on the bar. You don’t have to log anything by hand:

  • Rithmic: every execution comes in by itself. Also, when you connect an account for trading, Forge retrieves the last 180 days of executions from the broker, so what you traded with Forge closed shows up too.
  • Demo: everything you trade on Demo.
  • MT4/MT5: the OrderHelper expert advisor exports trades with the terminal’s real result, while it is running on a chart.

On Rithmic accounts, Forge calculates the P&L from the entry and exit price, without commissions, so it may not match your broker’s statement to the cent. The trading day ends at 17:00 New York time.

Account rules

With a single account selected, in ACCOUNT RULES › Configure… you enter the rules of your funded account or your own:

  • Drawdown type: Intraday trailing (default), End-of-day trailing (EOD) or Static.
  • Starting balance, Maximum daily loss and Maximum total loss (drawdown) (0 = no limit).
  • The floor stops rising once it reaches the starting balance.
  • Profit limit (target) and Consistency: no single day can exceed that percentage of the total.
  • Warn in yellow on reaching 70% (default).

The Journal shows how much of each rule you’ve used, with the statuses CLOSE, EXCEEDED or ACHIEVED. If your Rithmic account comes with its own limits, you see those too.

The rules are informational: they warn you, but they don’t block any order or close any position.
